desktop shows links to manual and IRC. the second K-Menu button on the desktop shows a traditional kde3-menu (for users that prefer that). next to it a trash-icon. this could also be in the taskbar of course. at the top is a newsticker that shows the latest news from the sidux website.

the new menu provides default favourites for quick access to common programs that are included with sidux and (on liveCD) a shortcut to the installer.
