Hi,

is there a 64bit kernel for AMD64 available, too?

Background of my question:

I have an AMD64-type notebook and have been using 32bit kernels so far because the 64bit kernels did not seem to support wine and dssi-vst for 64bit and loading windows dll files with vsti.

So, if there is a 64bit version of the RT 2.6.24 kernel, does this kernel support dssi-vst (if compiled as 64bit version) and load *.dll-vsti-files?

Thx and regards,
Crypto.

I would like to know what are the differences in configuration between the sidux kernel and your kernel. What options did you enable? Since this kernel is not supported by sidux team I think it is very important to know the differences.

* Added -rt3-patch

so no unionfs (should be possible or easy to fix for a professionel),
but the very invasive -rt-patch

No realtime patch yet for kernel 2.6.25?

Note: I have suggested in another thread a new forum for audio software, realtime, etc...

EIP is the extended (32-bit) instruction pointer, it's a register in the
X86 processor. You should not be getting that problem, if you are, then it
means..

1) your mobo is slowly failing (not likely)
2) you overclocked your processor and it's unstable (likely)
3) bad RAM
so could you please check your cpu and ram?
this is the first bugreport for the new kernel! Smile

To be sure, I have just compiled a new realtime kernel with vanilla kernel and the same configuration as the sidux official 2.6.25.4: same problem.
I don't think it is a motherboard or memory problem: the official sidux kernel (last) is working very fine after almost 100 reboots!
I suspect a problem in the realtime patch.
