for those who don't like linuxtracker, i have created these same torrents on maelcum's server, http://iration.ath.cx/sidux-tracker/index.php

to increase speeds by adding more peers, you can add http://linuxtracker.org/announce.php to the trackers. (likewise, if you are using the linuxtracker torrent, you can add http://iration.ath.cx/sidux-tracker/announce.php to get additional peers).

ps.
i have nothing against linuxtracker, but others did, mainly because of it being run on a windows server. if it weren't for this, i would not have taken the time to create (and seed) these torrents. i only created these torrents as of request of others Smile

--edit--
ok, i just checked, and adding the linuxtracker tracker to these new torrents doesn't work, still working on a way to work around this...

Thanks for the torrent link. And seeders too; I'm seeing a nice ~350kB/s at the moment. Smile

Best Regards,

that explains why i _always_ had problems with torrents on linuxtracker! (down, unreachable, other errors...) Confused

Hi folks,
just saw something strange in my peer list of 32bit kde full:
about 160 peers all from 4 IP ranges:
38.100.*.*
208.10.*.*
209.66.*.*
209.133.*.*
Did a research and found out that our torrent is "under attack" by mediadefender.com.
http://www.mediadefender.com/antipiracy.html

Read more informations here:
http://torrentfreak.com/ziptorrent-pollutes-and-slows-down-popular-torrents/

So we need a way to block those IP ranges, don't know if ktorrent is able to handle a block/ban list? And other clients? We need more information about that.

And before I hit the roof about this bullsh** I'd like to thank all people for seeding!

yeah, ktorrent has ipblocker plugin built in
which is already setup to get a blocklist from bluetack

http://www.bluetack.co.uk/

the other extra ting is , you can run moblock

see !moblock factoid on irc:

"moblock" is Peerguardian-for-Linux:: http://moblock-deb.sourceforge.net/ .. use moblock-nfq
ie, run it as service. after install, do:
Code:

moblock-control test

to check working

Installed above said plugin and since then the offender left my ktorrent alone.

Thanks for hint.

There is a patch for the Lite version. Actually for both 32 and 64 bit versions. How does one use the patches ? I have been using Ubuntu for some months now, not exactly a newbie to Linux.

Do you mean xdelta patch? xdelta patches are used to convert preview realeases into the latest release. You don't need them if you downloaded sidux-2007-04-eros.
