nabend zusammen,

ich hab mir die finger wund gesucht, aber leider nichts gefunden. Handbuch-Tipp "apt-get install firmware-iwlwifi" hat auch nicht geholfen.

ich hab einen intel 4965 wlan chip auf den santa rosa prozessoren. Leider lässt sich dieser nicht ansprechen. nach einem "apt-get install firmware-iwlwifi" meint netcardconfig zwar, dass er das ding erkennt und ich kann auch alles konfigurieren, er sagt er hat auch erfolgreich verbunden und fragt anständig, ob er das automatisch beim starten integrieren soll, aber es ist trotzdem Funkstille...

hat jemand einen würgaround, wie man den mist zum laufen kriegt? bzw. ist absehbar, dass das irgendwann gefixt ist?

Ist das ein Acer 5920G ? Liest sich fast so das LSPCI. Das Ding hat einen Killswitch, linke Sondertastenreihe die oberste. Wenn der nicht eingeschaltet wird, kann auch nix aktiviert werden.

Sollte das nicht bereits helfen (evtl. sind acer-acpi oder acerhk (i386-only) erforderlich um den Killswitch zu de-/ aktivieren), sind die Ausgaben von dmesg und iwconfig, sowie "ifconfig wlan0 up; iwlist wlan0 scanning" von Interesse.

nein ein samsung r70 t7500 denet. der wlan ist aber auch aktiviert, hier geht das mit der Fn Taste (und das ist aber auch automatisch an).

Ich sitz grad vor nem Samsung q45, der hat noch den 3945? - chip und funktioniert. Allerdings auch erst nach dem ich die prop. Treiber installiert habe. der firmware-iwlwifi funktionierte nicht. Die Tasten für die wlan-aktivierung sind aber identisch - das hab ich schon gecheckt, auch an und aus gemacht; trotzdem danke für den hinweis.

reich ich am wochenende nach. bin bis dahin leider nicht zu Hause und komm auch an den lap nicht ran.

hallo,

so reiche jetzt die Ausgaben nach.... (trotz streik Smile ) bevor ich das jedoch tue noch ein paar infos... ich hab noch mal ein upgrade gemacht, sodass sidux gaja "up-to-minute" ist. Danach hab ich spaßeshalber mal den wlassist installiert. der sieht sogar mein netz, kann nur nicht verbinden. Nun hab ich aus lauter faulheit, um beim probieren den blöden schlüssel nicht immer neu eingeben zu müssen mal auf unverschlüsselt gestellt (den router natürlich) und wunder er bekam einen connect. Nur, sobald ich wieder verschlüsseln wollte (wep) - ging nix mehr Sad

Das positive zuerst, rfkill scheint hier kein Problem zu sein - txpower ist korrekt und scanning funktioniert. Mit dem eigentlichen auth handshake über wpa_supplicant scheint es jedoch Probleme zu geben, die Chancen daß dies mit aktuelleren iwlwifi Versionen (in Kernel 2.6.23.1, nicht 2.6.22) behoben sind, sind relativ hoch - das wäre dementsprechend mein erster Versuch. Sofern dies nicht zum Erfolg führt, müssen wir wpa_supplicant und dessen Konfiguration weiter debuggen.

so ein teilerfolg kann vermeldet werden. nach kernel upgrade auf 2.6.23.1... tat sich zunächst nix - schade dachte ich. naja, spielkindchen dachte dann, so jetzt probierste es noch mal mit wlassistant und welch wunder nun rennts - aber nur mit wlassistant. der automatishe start über die /etc/network/interfaces bzw. ein /etc/init.d/networking restart bringt das teil nicht zum laufen - er bezieht keine adresse. Wenn ich networking restart mache und wlassistant ist offen (ohne sich verbunden zu haben) dann klappts mit einmal. Hier muss also irgendwo der hase im pfeffer liegen... holt sich wlassistant noch irgendwas anderes, auf das dann der netcardconfig auch zugreifen kann? abe vorher nicht?

wirklich verblüffend, dass es so läuft und so nicht... ich kann mit der wlassistant-lösung leben. stehe aber auch gerne als "testkaninchen" bereit, wenn interesse besteht. werd den würgaround auch gleich mal ins wiki posten http://sidux.com/index.php?module=pnWikka&tag=WLAN - bitte etwas geduld, die intel seite muss ich erst mal erstellen und aus'm englischen translaten...

ich hab auch so meine Probleme mit dem iwl4965 Treiber.

System: IBM Thinkpad T61p
kernel: 2.6.23.1-slh-smp-9

In einem WPA-EAP Netz läuft die Karte normal schnell. wpa_supplicant starte ich von Hand. Es gibt Netzunterbrüche, aber die hatte ich bereits mit der Atheros-Karte und sind somit nichts neues.

Im Standart-Netz, welches in /etc/network/interfaces konfiguriert ist (WEP-verschlüsselt), erhalte ich beim Start auch keine IP. Sobald ich aber mit iwconfig die ESSID überschreibe, funktioniert ein anschliessendes DHCP.
Ich habe jedoch nur einen Netzwerkdurchsatz von 40kb/s.
In anderen Foren wird ähnliches berichtet.

vielleicht lohnt es sich ja auch auf den 2.6.24 er Kernel zu warten, der soll in ca. 2 Monaten erscheinen und neue Treiber u.a. für den intel-mist beinhalten.

...die allerdings bereits in unserem 2.6.23 Kernel seit langem enthalten sind. Bis 2.6.24 sind allenfalls noch Detailverbesserungen zu erwarten, die die nach Kräften - allerdings ungetestet - zeitnah in unsere Kernel einfließen lassen.

Neuer Stand: Nachdem ich mir ne neue Box vom Fritzchen zugelegt habe, die jetzt auch wpa2 beherrscht und ich meinen Stand-PC, der nur wep konnte entsorgt habe, dachte ich, ist ein neuer Versuch nötig.

Zuerst war ich enttäuscht, da wlassistant mit wpa2 keine Verbindung zu Stande brachte. Na gut dachte ich, probierste kernel-upgrade von 2.6.23-1 auf 2.6.23-15 (mit smxi, ja einfach gemacht). Nur ebenfalls keine Besserung.

Irgendwie hab ich dann doch nochmal die alte Variante mit der /etc/network/interfaces probiert und siehe da, nun funzt es einwandfrei.

in der interfaces steht nix utopisches drin, der Standard-Zweizeiler hat ausfereicht:
