but what I really like is the new fav icon, the "si" ("yes" or "yeah" in spanish) of sidux. It gives me a very positive attitude.
it's more like "si" without an accent, which means "if". |

As I've already posted, gaia's the first standard wallpaper that I haven't immediately changed in over 10 years of linux.
I must admit that, after a few days, I found the title bars a bit confusing, so I changed them to dark green with gold lettering (active) and dark grey-green with light grey lettering (inactive).
As for being reminiscent of *buntu, I wonder how the same design in light green, light blue, or light violet would look? Other distros favour darker colours and I mention violet only because it would be distinctive.
Of course, the gaia wallpaper in mid to light grey might also look good.
Congratulations as ever to cathbard and the team.
Gaia's already very good indeed and I like it, but you can't please everyone, alghough some of this minor tinkering might be worth a try. |

"Taste should not be discussed" - as my grandmother used to say...
Anyway - one can always express one's own opinion - and here it goes: I like the new look of the site - color scheme and the new favicon. According to me they look both subtle and pleasant to the eye. The golden hint brings nice associations - at least to me - golden color is connected with prosperity and has a magic meaning in many cultures...
Congratulations and thanks to creators.
Best wishes,

Thanks everybody for your suggestions. I have adapted the font colors - they are much darker now and should be better readable.
I am planning some more tweaking in detail (IE6 is not fully supported by the table free main page layout, minor code errors in gallery and wiki template, the dark grey and blue needs to be changed against another fitting dark color, the tiny forum buttons need color adjustment, ...).
Please let me know if there are still glitches not already mentioned here.
Greetings,
Chris |

I'm quite flattered that you've chosen to synchronise the site theme with the Gaia art
@d2kx question - for the first time we are going to keep a similar theme and colour scheme for eros, so it will last for at least another release |

Ah, yes: I'm still thinking about how we could add the girl as an background image to the center block at the start page.
Thanks cleary for this exceptional set of colors you put together for the gaia artwork - it was really a pleasure to work with it on this web site theme.
Greetings,
Chris |

Just when i log-out i can see the GAIA colors,
When i am logged-in it turns blue,
I hope its because of an tryout.....
Gaia colors looks nice and new. Most pages/Forums are blue.
I like it as an default color.

Holy cow! Who died?
I just encountered the black background with the faint lettering and dark red colours. When I enlarged it a lot, I could read it, but it's ugly, depressing and a bit of a drag having to enlarge it so I can read it - it requires a lot of scrolling!
This is the first time I've failed to admire a decision made by our experts.
I can't complain, as sidux is so good in every other way. |

Sorry - I'd forgotten about Halloween, here in Australia. Although our government has been trying very hard to get us absorbed into the U.S.A., we don't yet celebrate it here.
You've done the right thing, after all. |
