ok, since ppl are using sidux on macs, and apple keyboards, and my Matias kbd is mac-alike,
this is a thread for that
.. and now ALL mac support issues

to accomodate this matias usb1 + usb2.0 keyboard, i use cheatcodes when booting live-cd for install:

Code:

nointro lang=us tz=Europe/London

nointro stops the manual auto-loading [sorry,bw]
lang=us accomodates most of the non-uk features of this Matias
http://matias.ca/usb2keyboard/index.php
lang=us would normally make my timezone be NewYork
tz=Europe/London forces my uk locale in the Installer

Ok, here's what I did...first...this covers the volume and eject keys

Set keyboard layout to Apple in kcontrol under Regional & Accessibility > Keyboard Layout (This maps all the keys and should enable the numpad too on full-size keyboard)

Then open kmix and go to Settings -> Configure Global Shorcuts

Click on the blank squares and press the key you want mapped to each command

There, now you should have working mute, volume up/down keys

Next go back into kcontrol and then venture to Regional & Accessibility > Input Actions

Create a new action, name it Eject, or whatever you want, then change the "action type" to Keyboard Shortcut > Command/URL (Simple)

Then click to the keyboard shortcut tab, click the box, and then hit your eject key

Click the Command/URL Settings tab and then enter "eject" without the quotes in the box, or whatever other command you'd like to use to eject (man eject for more options)

And there you go!

Also I'll add, if you want the Command/Apple key to act like the Ctrl key like it does in OS X, just go to the Regional & Accessibility > Keyboard Shortcuts in kcontrol, click the last tab Modifier Keys, then check Macintosh Keyboard and MacOS-Style modifier usage.
