Installing groupware software (phpgroupware or opengroupware) is mostly difficult.
Perhaps we can write a script, or make some kind of documentation about what the way is in sidux to install a groupware package.
say from installing mysql, to create the db
to apt-get install opengroupware xxxx
and so on? |

| perhaps a config script within the groupware package, so it can be easily run to configure the application. |

That's what would be handy for such enormous packages.
I have had an vmware image of openxchange, which looks really good, but buy if you want full access (and that's not the image you buy)!
I don't have anything against buying stuff, but I am very open source minded, so why pay if there is a way to install things.
But open xchange isn't that easy to install. So a script to do these things would be nice. |

Open-Xchange isn't hard to install - but you only get an installer in the commercial version. you can test the commercial version for 30 days for free.
OX is Open-Source, and you get it for free. Though if you want support, you have to pay for it. That's a common open-source business model.
you have to decide wether your time is worth doing things on your own, or if having a service agreement with a company can be more beneficial for you - even if you have to pay for it.
the targets of open-xchange are medium to big companies with >> 50 users. for such environments, a service agreement is a must-have. |

| egroupware is available as debian package with full debconf configuration, if it suits your needs is another question. |

| Well I have to look into egroupware, it seems to be a good package also. Perhaps a good howto which explain things will be enough to get users installing such packages. I will have a look and if installing, writting a little doc... |
