I will be updating the first four posts in this thread as new stuff is added so this will be up to date. Names may change as well as new stuff being added so this is the page to go to for everything regardless of how long the thread gets. Things in the body of the thread may not be correct as time goes by but this page will be.
There's also my stuff at Cathbard.com that may interest you.
For information about how to customise KDE3 and use this stuff consult the wiki I wrote HERE.
I also have a repo so some of these are available via apt get once you activate my repo. Detailed instructions on how to do that can be found found here.
This is the best way to ensure that you have the latest version installed. I will be adding things to the repo all the time. The easiest way to keep your eye on it is to open this page in a browser.
If you see an apt-get command with anything here it is for those that have my repo activated unless otherwise stated.
All wallpapers installed by apt-get will be found in /usr/share/wallpapers.

KDM
On new sidux installations new kdm themes may not activate until you remove all the files in /etc/default/kdm.d
Just delete everything in that folder and you'll gain control over your computer's kdm screens.
You may also find that /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc has the setting usetheme=false. If so change it to usetheme=true. Enabling kdm themes in the kdm theme manager doesn't seem to change it. (you will have to be root of course)

**To install and use KDM - KDE3 themes:
tar.gz files -
Control Centre > System Adminstration > KDM Theme Manager
Enter Administrator Mode and select Install New Theme. Navigate to the file you downloaded and hit OK.
Now hit Apply and close the Control Centre. - all done.
deb files -
install as a normal deb (ie dpkg -i) and then select with the KDM Theme Manager and hit apply
If you have no KDM Theme Manager in the Control Centre then open a konsole and type:
su
apt-get install kdmtheme

Click on the splash theme you want, hit Apply and close the Control Centre.
deb files -
install as a normal deb (ie dpkg -i) and then select it in the Splash Screen section of kcontrol and hit apply.

--Hint-- Go into "Control Center > System Admin > Login manager > Background" in administrator mode and change the image to the background used by the kdm theme you are using. This will give a more integrated feel to the boot process as this is the image that will be behind ksplash. |

I had a crack at a kmenu icon. It is a first draft that I thought I'd float by you. Clicking on the pic will download an archive that contains all the sizes needed for kde.
There is also a new Beryl theme designed to match the sidux wallpapers in the fourth post of this thread. |

If you are using the standard set then it lives in /usr/share/icons/crystalsvg/size/apps
The archive is broken into folders for each sized icon so it should be obvious which ones go where.
You will of course have to do this as root.
If you installed an icon set as user instead of the standard sidux one then you will find the folders in /home/user/.kde/share/icons/ |

I've put the kmenu.png in the 'right' folder but the icon hasn't changed.
Strangely, when I change the icon theme, the desktop changes but the panel doesn't! This didn't used to be the case. Anyone else with a disconnect between the panel and desktop icons?
