@libra: That's what I call one of the best examples how wonderful looking Fluxbox can be - very well done, and the wallpaper is a decent piece of art.
Greetings,
Chris |

Philippe-Pierre : looks great.
Some how I cannot get used to the tiled mode wms, otherwise I would surely be using dwm, wmii or such.

Hardik |

Eek! I can't cope with these "light" window managers.
Although I can actually cope entirely in text mode mode if I have to, I'd much rather have lots of icons, flash and bloat

Below are two snapshots of my fluxbox desktop. The second one shows my own GTK theme based off of xfce 4.0. I wanted a darker look to go with my fluxbox theme but didn't want black, or something unreadable. Pretty much I just changed the colors for usability. Works great, took a while to get right:) I'll share if anybody is interested:)
Dave.

Here are two tar files that contains the folders "Dave6" and "Dave" . both are blue gtk themes. See which you like better:)
you must have: gtk2-engines-xfce installed as the files I am sending are based off of the xfce 4.0 theme.
to manage my gtk themes and icons I am using xfce4-mcs-manager and xfce4-mcs-plugins.
Code:
apt-get install gtk2-engines-xfce xfce4-mcs-manager xfce4-mcs-plugins
This will give you the dialog box "xfce-settings-show" in your menu under administration. Once opened, it is self explanatory.
you can place the theme "Dave6" in /home/<username>/.themes This is linked to the directory in /usr/share/themes where all are kept.
Dave6 is not complete in the sense that my fluxbox theme takes care of the title bar. Therefore I have not changed the titlebar colors specifically (no need to!)
It is easy to open the rc file in the folder Dave6 and change the colors using a program such as kcolorchooser to pick the colors. This is all I did. There are of course numerous considerations because of the mix of colors . . to get them to all work well and this can take a bit of time.
After you have changed your gtk theme, it is a simple matter to change the themes that use kde as well by opening "kcontrol/ appearances and themes/colors. Click on the color bar, and having any gtk using application open (i.e thunar or xscreensaver), then use the eyedropper to match the colors so your whole system is the same. Also remember to UNCHECK the box in kcontrol/appearances and themes/colors, . . that says "apply colors to non-kde applications"
Of course, if your not using any kde apps, this is probably irrelevant. I don't know.
Because I have taught myself how to do this I realize there may be easier ways, or better tools, but this works really well for me and I like the amount of control I have. Enjoy!
p.s. The upper left corner are all "wm's" wmweather, wmdate, etc . . . right corner is audacious with one of Cathbard's themes. |

Thats not true^^ I start them all from Kicker+Katapult+ I use Yakuake. (and there is the quick launcher) .. So I can run all of my fav apps in few seconds. I don't think any icon ever needed. (If you mean that situation, I just got up, kicked into the power button and gone online.. naturally nothing starts^^) |

Hi
Both the themes are nice. I use mostly 2 gtk applications iceweasel and eclipse. Both look great and match well with your fb theme.
There is only one problem with the Dave-blue theme is that the green fonts are difficult to read on the bluish background. This problem is solved in Dave-blue6 where the background is white.

Hardik |

| yep:) blue6 was the second try . . . blue itself needs a little more tinkering. Glad you were able to check them out. Thank you for the feedback. |
