I'd like to propose and to encourage everybody to use torrents as much as possible. At this point of time there are only 21 leechers and 11 seeders. I think it should and could be much more people to SHARE their (?) favourite distribution ( and, of course, bandwidth).

I can understand everybody who likes to have this fine piece of software as quick as possible. If you really need it such urgend, I do not blame anyone to do so. On the other hand, I think it is a good idea not to get in a hurry if you can effort it. And even when you d/l it via ftp/http you could share it afterwards as a torrent.

I am saying this because I think we should not stress the bandwidth of universitarian servers if not really needed and because I think it is in general a good thing to share between users IF POSSIBLE.

It should be clear, that this statement is my personal statement which will not necessarily meet the thoughts of the sidux team. So please consider this if you need to blame about it.

And finaly I'd like to emphasise that I fully agree with slam and the sidux team to NOT share sidux-PREVIEWS via publicly announced torrents outside this forum!

Thanks to catwalk for the torrent and the sidux team for this release!

Greetings from Germany

michaa

edit: seeders / leechers = 19 / 37

i downloaded the iso in less than 20 minutes from the servers.

of course i have some bandwidth to spare... if you can help me:
1) console bittorrent client
2) it's logging statistics to a file
3) i don't need to download the iso with bittorrent myself again. how can i get the iso into the client so it knows it's the full iso already?

thanks Smile

1) mldonkey is an edonkey client who does torrents. I used it on my own home-server since years. I dont know which other clc are out there, but I am sure there should be others.

http://mldonkey.sourceforge.net/Main_Page

read about BT-Useragent, too.

2) mld has logfiles and very elaborated stats. You can adminster it via browser, view stats, start, stop, search and so on. Very active forum.

3) read:

Try to place the .torrent in the same directory where you have the .iso and then open the .torrent with azureus, ktorrent, or whatever you use.

@ dedo: ben fatto!

@ all:

leave the torrent(s) in your seed until sidux-02 is released!

Yeah, after the release is before the release Wink ( It's a german saying derived from soccer wisdom )

I'm seeding the sidux64iso at 30kB/s and the siduxnormaliso at 10kB/s, but more seeders are needed!

KTorrent gives "Tracker status: invalid response". It looks like the tracker isn't updating.

I have Seeds/Peers: 21/34

I did use opera's BT client, which seems to be not a good choice ( although I love opera as browser ). Now I have stopped the d/l with opera-BT and imported the torrent and temp file into ktorrent. Works like a charm, d/l rate ftp-like AND I am uploding at full speed, too Wink.

I have ktorrent tracker status ok. Maybe you're behind a missconfigured router?

Hm, now I have "Tracker status: invalid response", too.

I'm also seeding it, but the tracker seems to be off. I have 3 peers.

Since I am busy seeding the iso, I can't use it Sad

The message "Tracker status: invalid response" is fairly normal for linuxtracker. There hardware has been having a hardtime keeping up with all of the torrents that get posted there. I have found that if you give it time, you will get a tracker status ok.
