I realized it's been a while since I really checked in with everyone who has access to the smxi warning/hold backend page.
I'd like to update the list, and also let people know who has that access so they can request package holds or warnings.
I will create a small email list responder for everyone who wants to still be in this group, and for anyone who doesn't want to be in it, please let me know and I'll remove the access for you.
For all people who want to still do it, please send me via pm your preferred email address, and I'll create the list for updates and announcements and reminders.
Here is the list of current hold/warning backup operators:
piper
devil
bluewater
x-un-i
etorix
cuddles
dutchy
zulu9
latino
hubi
Basically what I'll do is this: if I haven't received an email address from you if you are on this list in a week or two, I'll try to find you and double check, then remove you.
If you are not interested in being in this group any longer, please let me know, and I'll remove you.
If you would like to contribute and join the warning/hold group, let me know. This requires being basically aware of what is happening in debian sid most of the time, following forum warnings most of the time, and being willing to update the simple warning page.
Again, anyone who does not respond, or asks to be removed, will be removed from this list.
The recent hplip thing reminded me that it's probably time to check in with the warning team/group, and to create a way to communicate, ie, a mini list serve (well, ok, not a list serve, I'll just create an email account that forwards to us all, send to that one always, and everyone gets it), that will help us all keep in touch and up to date.
Hopefully this is clear enough. I think the group needs to be tightened up a bit, because with 10 or more people, there should be almost no cases where a hold is not put on a package that is causing problems, ie, hplip-gui within an hour or so of the problem being discovered. smxi doesn't really work if this doesn't happen.
This is for the Debian sid/sidux warnings. Non sidux Sid, Testing, and Stable (not that they will ever be used) please use this non sidux thread. |

| So um... can I still be in it, even if, like for sidux, I don't really serve any kind of useful purpose other than a chuckle as the names go by ? |
