hi,
its not a sidux specific problem. i have the same problem in almost all distributions i tried after the problem appeared.
after activating c'n'q option in the bios, booting the system (sidux/debian/fedora/suse....) and the cpufrequtil changes the cpu-speed, the system will hang-up.
there was almost 2 years without a problem with c'n'q. from one day to the next it stopped working.
do you think it's a hardware defect or is there a chance to get c'n'q working again?

provide informational messages from kernel message log/buffer and from attempting to load the cpufreq module support or manipulate cpufreq settings.

Updating the BIOS also helps often.

after the cpufrequtils daemon was started, the cpu speed throttled down to 1ghz without a problem. i tried to make a new logfile, but while the cpu speed changed the system hangs up completely.

i have an asus a8v-vm board and there are two bios updates. one is a resolution fix, i gues and the other is a lan fix. both is not interesting for me and i hope i can avoid a bios update, 'cause it seems that are often problems with it.

http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6793

one of them wrote a script which should fix (comment #11), but i 'm not sure how to translate this script to my system.
