I'm a bit confused by this report - I have not had any issues with iceweasel opening links from external applications, they are opened in a new tab in an existing session, or if there is no existing session iceweasel opens a new session.
Can you please provide more info, iceweasel version,
steps to reproduce, which livecd you are using (kde-lite/full/xfce), etc
Thanks |

I'm running LXDE actually but I started noticing it after my last dist-upgrade when iceweasel got bumped to 3.0.3. I had to manually go into /usr/lib/iceweasel/iceweasel and change that line from firefox to iceweasel like in the bug report.
After that links would open new tabs in iceweasel again. |

I have the 3.03 in sidux and also in gnome debian testing, they are both not opening link from other applications giving error like:
"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."
I have installed swiftfox 3.03 and they dont have this error/problem.

Thanks Hubi, I can confirm that the fix worked for me.
It was happening when opening links from Akregator, so happened in gnome too. Kcontrol fixed it perfectly
All well again

"iceweasel -a iceweasel" fixes it everywhere. I am glad, kcontrol controls The Gnome as well, and users of XFCE will know where to apply this.

Same boat as drb....didn't work here either.....Hopefully this will be fixed soon, I'm not sure I want to try the original bug fix... |
