I am waiting for grasshopper to come up with some more reasons why debian is so unusable then we can move on to some other tiresome comparisons.
As far as a reason, no distro needs a reason to exists besides the creators wanting to do it.
kelmo....as in kel modderman....I have been playing with some fullstory stuff and ran across that name a time or two. I didn't realize you was you. |

kppp is a piece of crap, okay you convinced me.....now what is so wrong with gnome and dialup?
I haven't seen that issue come up often at the forums I hang out at so somebody must be figuring it out.
Uh OH, looks like it used to also be a sidux problem. Thank goodness they fixed it so sidux would be usable.

I'm sorry I even entered this conversation. MeanDean is spamming up the topic and taking the entire topic way off topic with a minor point. Obviously it isn't such a minor point at all with all this fuss.
First off, to MeanDean, I never said Debian was unusable. Please show me where I said that. I gave one minor example at how a friend of mine found sidux easier to use than Debian. He felt, as do I, that the program should just have worked. Clearly it doesn't. You obviously didn't know know that either since you said you just installed it and it worked.
Next, to kelmo....sorry, but you seemed to have took my post the wrong way. We were talking about ease of use and I gave one example at how a friend found it easier to get online with sidux, rather than Debian. That is not pointless nor is it frustrated. It is one minor example.
Do you guys always go off on simple things like this? |

mea culpa, I'll stay out of it after this, promise.
My only point was; we've discussed one specific example to death, it was a good point to begin with but now becomes a sideshow for what started as a pretty meaningful topic. This is not directly caused by you, sorry for my poor contribution to the discussion. |

Sadly this does seem to be happening quite frequently lately |

...and it will stop right here.
MeanDean, I would appreciate if you would continue your needlessly agitating ranting elsewhere, like you're used to do anyways - thanks. |
