Activate a small script - routine that would detect the presence of a Wifi card and would configure /etc/network/interfaces, /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf (and change the rights) and install the wpagui button on the desktop to configure the WIFI, such as described in the WIKI.
I had problems until I found out how to roam WIFI-lans with my laptop and managed to do it thanks to the excellent WIFI.
However, I found out that a lot of people, even a lot more competent in Linux than I am, have trouble to configure WIFI.
So a little help for roaming at install would be welcome!
Just a suggestion from a very happy sidux user (who conviced 5 other people to use it even on a professional basis!)..

damentz,
you and I know now how to configure wlan (for me after hours of struggle - first with kanotix than later with sidux - and now it works!)
But think of my neighbor who got rid of M$ Window$ and reformatted his laptop and installed sidux on my advice (he is a total newbee to linux but a software pro)...
He did not find the way for his wlan.... I had to help him and he is VERY happy with sidux.
When possible it should go as easy as possible and as feasible... |

| OK! but the problem is always wpa, wep works, wpa is not as consistent as with the wpa_supplicant and wpa_gui solution. |
