I have an ASUS EeePC 900 which recently replaced an eeepc 701. I'm having trouble getting wireless to work. I tried building madwifi-eeepc-source from Debian eeepc repo, which worked fine on 701 but not 900. Here is the last few lines from m-a buildlog:
CC [M] /usr/src/modules/madwifi-eeepc/net80211/ieee80211_output.o
CC [M] /usr/src/modules/madwifi-eeepc/net80211/ieee80211_power.o
/usr/src/modules/madwifi-eeepc/net80211/ieee80211_power.c: In function 'ieee80211_pwrsave':
/usr/src/modules/madwifi-eeepc/net80211/ieee80211_power.c:246: error: implicit declaration of function '__skb_append'
make[5]: *** [/usr/src/modules/madwifi-eeepc/net80211/ieee80211_power.o] Error 1
make[4]: *** [/usr/src/modules/madwifi-eeepc/net80211] Error 2
make[3]: *** [_module_/usr/src/modules/madwifi-eeepc] Error 2

make[2]: *** [modules] Error 2

make[1]: *** [binary-modules] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/modules/madwifi-eeepc'
make: *** [kdist_build] Error 2
Any Ideas? Am I using the right source for 900?
Trust me to get a laptop that,s superseded in 3 months! |

| apt-get --purge madwifi-tools is required, before ath5k can work though. |

Thanks guys. Posting from wireless now.
Just did :
apt-get purge madwifi-tools
modprobe ath5k
and ran Ceni. All good so far.
Probably didn't help that wireless was turned off in BIOS . |

Good to know that ath5k is working now.
For the record, the compiling error was a result of going to the 2.6.26 kernel, not the Eee PC 900. It happened to me on my 701 as well. It can be fixed by editing the eee.c file -- see "comment #1" here.
Thanks for checking out ath5k.
