Hi,
I tested out Brasero this evening, to burn an iso to cdr. Although Brasero launched, and I could select the iso, as soon as I inserted a blank cdr it crashed. After that it would not launch again, until I removed the media. Then it would launch and I could go through the same routine of choosing the iso, then inserting the media causing it to crash. I know it isn't a hw issue, because immediately I booted into kubuntu and burned the same iso to the same cdr media using k3b no problem.
I checked in apt, and it is the latest version of Brasero. |

a few things:
are there any messages, if you start brasero from the x-terminal?
try it, and after it acts up, see also if
dmesg
shows related suspicious lines
what happens if you dont use brasero at all but the tools on the shell?
sidux manual http://manual.sidux.com/en/cd-no-gui-burn-en.htm
on burning without GUI

| No issues uing k3b in kubuntu/gutsy. If I can't get brasero to work in sidux xfce I might try k3b as I'm already running other kde apps in it. |

| I just burned an iso to cdr from sidux using k3b (xubuntu 8.10 alpha3 iso), 48x, sao (auto detect) no problems. It verified integrity from the cd and booted into xubuntu, again, no problems. |

Sounds like possibly a different bug... for me, Brasero crashes (and won't relaunch) only when I have inserted cdr media into the drive, not "when clicked".
I might try it again after patching. OTOH, K3B just works... |

I have the issue where 0.8.0-2 will crash when clicking on "Burn iso image" if I have cdr or dvd+-r media in the drive.
K3b does not like my external lacie drive and will continually reset the usb bus resetting the drive, so I'm going for the easiest fix first here |
