How to edit fstab with uuid's?
Or should user generated mount points be added via another method?

to see your system uuid and their connection to the old syntax, do this:
ls -la /dev/disk/by-uuid/
This will make it quite clear to you.
You can also check by-label.
If it's your system you can also use labels, as long as you make them clearly distinct, like not 'data', but say data-123 |
