Post subject: [solved?] after update printer unjustifable slow and buggy

I made an upgrade this morning on a x86_64 machine with
Code:
apt-get upgrade
cups was upgraded too. Since I can't print or configure anything. The window generally opens and then you can click on nothing in this window, only kill it.
The only error I found
Code:
lp: Error - no default destination available.
when I tried to print via console and lp. It's a similar error message when i'm starting a program with wine. Here I receive a message that there's no default printer.
Someone an idea?

cups version: 1.8.3-1 |

ubiwan, actually you have missed one important thing:
do not use "apt-get upgrade" under sidux / debian sid ... i has to be "apt-get dist-upgrade"
do you know the smxi script? i'd recommend to have a look at it
