I was under the impression (erroneous obviously) that no kernel replacement meant no need to relink nvidia.
Two nights ago, I did a d-u (lots of packages but no new kernel installed). Proceeded to init 5 and all was cool.
After shutdown, however, X failed to start. I had to d-u again and relink the (always newest) nvidia module.
Not a super big deal, but worth reporting. |

Wrong impression, any time any core xorg component is updated, you need to reinstall the nvidia/fglrx driver.
Usually smxi will let you know at the graphics installer question if this happened, it compares some core xorg version numbers pre and post dist-upgrade. |
