Even it may only vaguely resemble a "mountain" -a way that I actually like- at this point spacepenguin's sidux-lava for the win!
It's simple, straight forward, and that red random like pattern thingie on the other hand has some playful flavor and describing the topic (Ourea) discreetly.
For my taste this one provides some pretty professional, plain and clean look, focusing, and without being boring.
Great work! |

I have a little question concerning the licenses: you recommended the "free art licence" (probably referring to artlibre.org which i used as several others did too) to conform the results to the dfsg.
I just hoovered by at the debian wiki and found, that this licence is considered as "Licenses whose status is unsettled" (http://wiki.debian.org/DFSGLicenses#head-017693d3ffe8a253f44a0c5885f658b65a0ac094).
Well i'm now a little confused, as if these license-wars aren't already complicated enough. I still hope that the license that was recommended doesn't makes any problems for you. If it should appear to be necessary, i'll also change license to a better fitting one... (provided that there's any use for my work that is ) |

I am not a big fan of the free art license. It seems too complex and some things do not seem clear about it. It also seems to require things I find unreasonable. Could just be me though...
I am not sure the dfsg can be applied to artwork actually. But if I had to guess I would say that the free art license would not meet the dfsg requirements. Depending on how you apply the dfsg and how the free art license applies it would seem to 'contaminate' since simple inclusion seems to require the whole work to use the same license and that almost seems to 'discriminate' to me. But that is just a wild guess....
Personally, I wish other formats besides svg were acceptable. Does a jpg that is embedded in a svg count? |

I tried, and it doesn't. (even a .png, to use a open source format )
Moreover, submissions are finished, aren't they? |

| actually it didn't make it because it didn't conform to the competition requirements (which required svg only) |

My apologies, that was a mistake on my part - I meant to reference The Artistic License (http://www.opensource.org/licenses/artistic-license.php ) -
I'm away at the moment with limited internet access - I'll discuss any requirements to change it when I get back home |

Congratulations to the winner of the 2008-02 design.
Nice. I can live with it. Been looking for a change.
Liked the others but tired of them. |
