I'm with sidux !!! Thx to my neightborn to this installation !
But now i have a little probleme.
I don't no how install a software without synaptic and i want FireFox 3 (the original) because the Iceweasel is not good for me ! It's from the beta of firefox 3?
Many site have problème with css... and the placement of the button for close the tabs is not the same....
So, i have downloaded the installer here: http://www.mozilla.com/products/downloa ... lang=en-US
And now the file is on my desktop !
And now ? How install this ? It's juste an archive.... how installe this ?

What's the matter with iceweasel? It's like the FF3! There is (technical) no difference between FF and IW. And the IW-rc in Debian repository is the same as FF3 final. |

Hi Xavier. Just unpack it (right click on the archive and than choose extract here, at least if you have KDE configured to use english language). Than go in firefox folder that was created whit the extraction and if you are lucky, double clicking on a file simply named firefox should work. If not, than you should make a 'Link to the aplication' (a shortcut pointing to that file named firefox inside the folder named firefox).
This metod works for me, I hope you understood me because I am not an English speaker too. We try, we try... |

As said before, Iceweasel is technicaly identical with firefox. Debian had to rename his Firefox due to a conflict with mozilla (long story)

Beta's and RC's are not the same.
The current version in sid no Beta, It is the last release candidate, and therefore the same as the final release. |

I would like to know how to do this in sidux. I find Firefox 3 to be different than Iceweasel. There is no way to close tabs in Iceweasel without taking extra steps. In Firefox, you click 'the [x]. In Iceweasel, I have to make extra 'clicks.' That's just one reason. I also just want the option and would like to know how to do it.
Is there any way that would work well?
I have only read of enabling a certain repository or actually going to the Firefox site and extracting it and installing it that way. |

@tuxracer
middle click on the tab and it will close, with or without the little [x] |

| Okay, thanks. I figured out how to install FF3 and yes, it does look the same and doesn't have the [x] on the tabs. I'll use the middle click way then. |

To fix the issue with the tab close button:
Open a new window, and type "about:config". Ignore the warning--it's a joke.
Change browser.tab.closebuttons to 1.
Then it will be on every tab. |
