Kelmo, since I am not that very sure how did you mean that, I just changed the following line's CFLAG within the Make file to EXTRA_CFLAG:
Code:
CFLAGS += -DVHBA_VERSION=\"$(VHBA_VERSION)\"

While the error-message is now a different one, it still wont work:
Code:
phen@booky:~/tools/vhba-module-1.0.0/cdemu/vhba-module$ make
make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build M=/home/phen/tools/vhba-module-1.0.0/cdemu/vhba-module modules
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.24-2.6.24.3.slh.2-sidux-686'

/home/phen/tools/vhba-module-1.0.0/cdemu/vhba-module/vhba.c: In function ‘do_response’:
/home/phen/tools/vhba-module-1.0.0/cdemu/vhba-module/vhba.c:523: error: ‘struct scatterlist’ has no member named ‘page’

I also downloaded the package from two different sites, with same faulty result. This is getting tedious.
I remember about some time ago I had the same struggle with cdemu.. in the end I just installed UltraIso via Wine. Requires time to convert plus always enough free diskspace, but as long as it work.. Wink

Thanks op4latino, that was the one!

HK-47, like you say, loop does for isos, not for other image-files though.

For most other image-format there are converter tools around.
Some formats can even be converted to iso with k3b (which uses the cli-tools I guess).

Here are some of those tools, all in apt and pretty easy to use (there might be more):
mdf2iso (for mdf-images), ccd2iso (for ccd-images), bchunk (for bin/cue-images)

Hi, what about .nrg format? Is there some converter?
Or am I obliged to install nerolinux???

Hi! I did some more search and there are several tools for nrg.
First there is "iat", which claims to handle the other formats too (I might look more into that) and
then there is "nrg2iso", which looks like exactly what you asked for.
So no need for nerolinux.

Thanks a lot they both work well, even if the isos they produce are slow to be read in isomaster. Maybe nrg2iso is quicker but this iat has the great advantage of being multiformat. Great their ease of use 2.

Actually I deinstalled it from my machine as I found it quite buggy and found the less functional though more consistent isomaster a partial fair substitute.

Dunno exactly, but if I were to answer I'd say yes, after all the same formats are used for dvd's as well.

Well, best way it to give a try Wink

If you look at the description for fuseiso you will find "It can also mount single-tracks .BIN, .MDF, .IMG and .NRG." though I have to admit I've never had to try those features myself!

Thanks for putting a mention of iat where Google could bring it to my attention, but I think you're missing the point. Using mount or fuseiso only works for single-track images. (ISOs can't contain multiple tracks)

If you're trying to play a game with CD Audio background music in Wine or DOSBox, you need cdemu. (Unless you're using BIN/CUE with DOSBox, but most of the conversion tools make ISOs, not BIN/CUE pairs)

On a related note, if you make your own BIN/CUE pairs by ripping with cdrdao and then running toc2cue, you may find that the audio tracks sound like noise. Apparently the endianness of a cdrdao BIN isn't the same as the BIN/CUE pairs everything expects.

If anyone needs it, I wrote a(n embarrassingly horribly CPU-bound) script to swap the audio endianness which can be obtained at http://www.ssokolow.com/scripts/. It's called swab.py and I plan to optimize it and rewrite it in C once I've got my life in order. (At the time I wrote it, CPU time was expendable and my programming time was at a premium)
