Hi All,
I'm running the 2.6.25-5.makke-rt6.1-sidux-amd64 kernel and I'm very happy with it. I can record with two mics @ 2.67 ms latency with no xruns, so thanks very much to Makke.
I'm new to sidux and I have everything working well with the exception of firewire video capture. I have tried everything on these posts:
http://www.sidux.com/index.php?name=PNp ... 1459#61459
and:
http://sidux.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-1 ... a493d.html
It is quite strange but these things worked yesterday and I was able to capture on kino and kdenlive but today nothing will make it work.
Perhaps someone will have a clue for me.
I have been looking at the forum for ways to recompile the kernel with only the old firewire stack enabled but I have very little experience with recompiling and nothing looks quite right. Perhaps someone would make a RT kernel with the old firewire stack, this would help people trying to capture video and those who need freebob (I'm not lazy but I'm a stay-at-home dad with a two and a half year old boy and my quality concentration
time is quite limited).
1) A downloadable kernel would be a dream come true.
2) A howto for recompiling the 2.6.25-5.makke-rt6.1-sidux-amd64 kernel would be just great.
3) A way to make video capture work with my existing kernel would be just fine.
4) Doing my video capture in windows could be tolerable but I don't think that I can capture to rawdv format and doing my editing in kino or cinelerra could be a problem.
Thanks to everyone for producing this great distro and I greatly appreciate any help that I might receive.
