New version of wpa supplicant says that there is no madwifi driver.
I had to downgrade to the testing version. |

What actually broken? What you describe is a message that madwifi specific driver support is no longer available, and generic wext backend is used instead (if you use ifupdown).
If you don't use the ifupdown bindings, but still use -Dmadwifi, too bad. This driver backend is gone for good. Use -Dwext instead. |

# wpa_supplicant -v
wpa_supplicant v0.6.3
# wpa_supplicant -Dmadwifi -i ath0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
Unsupported driver 'madwifi'
With generic wext driver it acts randomly, i was able to associate one time, but unable to associate another time.
Authentication with 00:00:00:00:00:00 timed out.
