no gpl/source file found
Make sure MSVCP71.DLL exists in the same directory as the liveusb-creator.exe.
Here you can download msvcp71.dll free of charge.
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-f ... ml?msvcp71
or maybe you can find it in windows\system32 |

now also for sidux
apt-get update && apt-get install liveusb-creator
only for FAT
if you must format:
save your data, then
Code:
mkfs.vfat -n sidux /dev/sdXX
sometimes i must reboot, don't know why
greeting,
Horst |

hjt, your work is GREAT!!!!!
My best compliments for all your efforts!
Do u also plan in the future to introduce "destructive" installs (with partitioning and formatting, in jfs, for instance)?

hjt, Unfortunaltely, I had this problem (sidux-2008-02), liveusb-creator installed last night:
1. I got this error message (taken from liveusb-creator.log):
/sbin/mkfs.ext2 /media/disk/sidux/sidux-rw/media/disk/sidux/sidux-rw is not a block special device.
Proceed anyway? (y,n)
mke2fs 1.41.0 (10-Jul-2008)
2. These are the mount points (iso image, usb flash memory) used by liveusb-creator:
/dev/sdc1 on /media/disk type vfat (rw,nosuid,nodev,uhelper=hal)
/media/disk0/sidux-2008-02-erebos-kde-lite-i386-200806252044.iso on /tmp/tmpaE4bm- type iso9660 (ro,loop=/dev/loop0)
3. It seems liveusb-creator is not "building" the rigth path for sidux-rw when using the command mkfs.ext2
What should I do in this case?
Thanks for your help |

Hi Horst.
Thanks for your fix. Finally I had some time yesterday and everything was ok.
One suggestion: liveusb-creator only recognizes usb flash memories not USB external disks,
Is it possible to support it?
Is there a limit on persist file size to 2GB if yes, why?
Once again, thanks for your fix and your very useful liveusb-creator.
Rgds, Francis. |

For USB external use the sidux installer or install-usb-gui.bash

liveusb-creator supports only FAT, if you want > 2GB try install-usb-gui.bash with ext

Hello,
I tried to install on a 4GB stick, persist to 500MB.
Installation finished with no errors.
Boot stops with error " OPERATING SYSTEM MISSING".
The stick contains: boot-folder, sidux-folder, ldlinux.sys, sidux.iso, splash.jpg, syslinux.cfg, vesamenu.c32.

hi bevo,
maybe syslinux won't boot with your stick, try install-usb-gui with grub |
