| I accidentally started my computer w/ the network cable unplugged as iceweasel indicated no network connection. I plugged it in and knemo lit up and indicated that a connection was establised but still iceweasel would not make a connection to a website. I searched the Kmenu for something that I might use to manually establish the connection but could not find anything that would work. Restarted my machine and all was back to normal again. How do I get my network connection to work without restarting my machine? Thanks. |

I'd like to recommend - as root - dhclient. works for me. But I'll give the ifXXX commands a try.
Thanks. |

Hi,
if you give a fix ip-address, gatewav (router ip) and nameserver (router ip) to your network adapter, your network connection always will be established and will wait for the kable to be plugged in. you haven't to do anything but only wait a few seconds.
