Hi

Every time i boot the sidux live cd, the boot hangs at starting
"Hardware abstraction layer: HALD".

The only time i was able to get sidux to boot was using failsafe mode, took 18min to boot and my keyboard on touchpad did not function. so couldn't do anything.

The checksum matched the one found on the ftp server, the image i used to create the live was cd was sidux-2008-01-nyx-kde-lite-i386-200804112335.iso
this is the first live cd i've had trouble booting from. currently running mepis7.0

Please help.

my computer details are as follows.

Acer Travelmate laptop
Pentium M 1.6ghz
Ram 512mb

did you burn the cd in DAO mode?

http://manual.sidux.com/en/cd-dl-burnin ... load-sidux

99% of failures for most errors or troubles are because of an incorrect burning mode

So I downgraded hal-info to testing version and everything works...

maybe wait and try sidux 2008-02 "Έρεβος"-pre1 or try the cheatcode

blacklist=hal
