| I have just received a Linksys wusb54gc usb nic. To set it up I checked the manual, which tells me that
Quote:
sidux has all needed packages installed already: the kernel module and the ndiswrapper-utils
Well, no ndiswrapper on my box:
Code:
root@siduxbox:~# ndiswrapper
bash: ndiswrapper: command not found
Can someone please explain what I need to do to get this card working? |

Code:
$ apt-cache search ndiswrapper
ndisgtk - graphical frontend for ndiswrapper (installation of Windows WiFi drivers)
ndiswrapper-modules-2.6-sidux-686 - ndiswrapper Linux kernel module modules for Linux 2.6 on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/P4
ndiswrapper-modules-2.6.25-3.slh.3-sidux-686 - ndiswrapper Linux kernel module modules for Linux 2.6.25 on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/P4
configure-ndiswrapper - NDISwrapper GUI for sidux
ndiswrapper-utils-1.9 - Userspace utilities for the ndiswrapper Linux kernel module
ndiswrapper-source - Source for the ndiswrapper Linux kernel module
ndiswrapper-common - Common scripts required to use the utilities for ndiswrapper
Check out what is missing, I suppose the modules.

| Linksys WUSB54GC is likely, but not guaranteed - please check, to use a RaLink RT73 chipset, for which perfectly working free and in-kernel drivers are available (read the release notes regarding the firmware installation procedure), not need to use ndiswrapper. |

| @slh: I think you are correct about the chipset. However, I am not sure what I should do. Should I go to http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/S ... inux.html, download the tar-file and build the module as described in the README? Or is the module available pre-built somewhere? |

| What about reading the latest release notes and following those instructions? |
