Code:
dmr@skynet:~$ acpi -V
No support for device type: battery
     Thermal 1: ok, 41.0 degrees C
No support for device type: ac_adapter

This is a relatively new regression, kelmo suggested in irc it may pertain to the 2.6.25 kernel. I would obviously like to be able to find my battery life with acpi.

Code:
dmr@skynet:~$ infobash -v3
Host/Kernel/OS  "skynet" running Linux 2.6.25-2.slh.1-sidux-686 i686 [ sidux 2008-01 Νυξ - kde-lite - (200804112323) ]
CPU Info        Intel Pentium M 1024 KB cache flags( sse2 ) clocked at [ 1200.000 MHz ]
Videocard       Intel 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device  X.Org 1.4.0.90  [ 1024x768@49.6hz ]
Network cards   Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
Intel 82541GI Gigabit Ethernet Controller, at port: 7000
Processes 85 | Uptime 5:11 | Memory 224.0/1002.3MB | HDD ATA HITACHI_DK13FA-4 Size 40GB (8%used) | Client Shell | Infobash v3.01

Code:
dmr@skynet:~$ apt-cache policy acpi
acpi:
  Installed: 0.09-4
  Candidate: 0.09-4
  Version table:
 *** 0.09-4 0
        500 http://ftp.us.debian.org sid/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I was trying the figure out the other day how much charge I had using cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/*, but it was giving me a file no found error. However. I think this is fixed in >= 2.6.25.2-2
