I'm using a Intel d201gly2 motherboard with the not so supported SiS graphical chip.
I was pleasant surprised though that it worked so well with the vesa driver in the 2.6.24 kernel. (A great deal of vertical tearings with the sis driver)
In my upgrade to the 2.6.25 kernel made all my videos very choppy in full screen with the vesa driver.
I tried to install new drivers for the sis module without great success. I did find some binaries from the ubuntu forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=728147) that gave me a stable picture but none of the video players would scale it to full screen.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated!

Still the same problem with kernel 2.6.25-5.slh.1
I keep on dist-upgrading and starting up with my old 2.6.24 version.
To bad the SiS got such a lousy support for linux, but I only got myself to blame - SiS is well known for their useless open-source support... |
