Iceweasel and Firefox is the SAME. BUT Debian team had to make Iceweasel, by legality reasons. (but _FIXME_!) ... so its the same.. Smile There are alternatives like SwiftFox, SwitfWeasel, and so on.. those aren't the same.. (by the way Thunderbird = Icedove)

it's all about licences - in this case, the logo of firefox is not "free enough" for debian, so they took another pic. and mozilla said: no way, if you make it look different, give the kid a new name. since than there is firefox and iceweasel.

edit: the software itself is licensed "free enough" for debian, its really ONLY the freaking image...
