Post subject: Iceweasel: remove entry from about:config?  PostPosted: Jan 21, 2007 - 10:07 AM

Hi there!
I made a type while adding an entry to my about:config. Now I can't find a way to remove the faulty item. <Del> fails, right clicking doesn't offer me the option to remove it. Maybe there's a way to "edit the about.config file via vi" or something?
Best regards,
Severin

First close iceweasel, then edit /home/xx/.mozilla/firefox/xx.default/prefs.js remove the line with the faulty item and restart iceweasel

Hi severin,

You have to find at first iceweasel's profiledir and then modify the correspondent prefs.js.
Normally you 'll find it in your homedir
Code:
~/.mozilla/firefox/.../prefs.js

For your safety, backup this file and modify it your way.

Greetings
Tom

I agree with piper get MR Tech's Local Install, it makes editing Iceweasel/Icedove config files very easy.

You are better off putting any changes in your user.js, since it stays across updates and can be edited with Iceweasel open.
