It's something like the topic says. You can reproduce the bug within few moments. I wanted to purge Ubuntu to hell with Gparted. I made a new ext3 as a backupstorage, and I copied the backups to the partition with MC. Then I deleted the buntu drive, and made a new ext3 partition instead of it. (thanks god..free me from that ..) .So .. I started to copy the things to the "lost+found" folder, and it halted in few minutes, "No hard drive space". Just to make things clear: Backup: ~150gb ext3 / MAIN: ~200gb ext3 .. So..yes.
I prefer everybody to use ANOTHER one dvd/cd live based environment for such recovery movements. I used Ubuntu8.04 then, what did the copy. Uhm.. I've recovered it from my trash ;D.. (and when I finished I put back to the trash..)
So.. if you can trace back the bug until the next version, I would be happy, but its not a problem, just I wanted to warn the others. |

| I don't know if it's just me, but this makes absolutely no sense. |

| You have to copy the files in smaller portions and not all at once. |

If you use a Live CD/DVD, and do not have enough memory (RAM +SWAP) , you will run out of memory if you to handle too much data at the same time.
And you can try to use a Live Distro with small footprint for such jobs, Puppy/DSL etc. They use very little RAM.
I hope that I am on the right track. |
