Having run a smxi d-u on my main machine within the last few days without any issues, today I've tried to do the same on a laptop. There is a long list of Python-related errors which go past too fast to read; this is followed by a very long list of consequent dpkg errors arising from Python not yet being configured.
I can't scroll back far enough to rad all the Python errors, but the last one is still in the buffer: it tells me that there is an error compiling /usr/share/boa-constructor/ZopeLib/zoa/version.py, in which line 10 generates a syntax error (return outside function).
I'd installed boa constructor to try it out, so it was no loss to remove it: apt-get remove boa-constructor resulted in success in setting up Python 2.5
There is in fact a bug posted about this (Debian bug 476929) - could something be added to the smxi warnings as well? |
