Hi, I made a
apt-get upgrade
today which resulted in an error
could not stat /etc/udev/rules.d/z60 ...
(it was rather at the end of the whole process)
afterwards keyboard didn't work and I rebooted the machine.
well, now it lacks any internet connection.
It doesn't even respond to pings from the local network.
Yes, I have checked netcard config, and anything seems to be unchanged...
BTW, if I unplug the network cable I am getting the usual message
eth0 disconnected
And when plugging it back in again it says
eth0 connected.
So I am sure it works.
Any hints? And how do I fix the aborted upgrade process?
apt-get install -f gives me an error on acpi
When restarting all the drives are fsck"ed EVERY time because either
last mount time is in the future
or
<device> has gone 49710 days without check
(which is not true)
Thanks in advandce |

| Looks like your computer date has reset. You have to set it back to current time. That should fix the disk check thing. If current time does not stick, then you might need to change your motherboard battery, if you are using a desktop. As for the internet, are you using moblock-nfq? Look in this section for a thread with it in the thread title. |

Hi stryder,
The problem with the fsck has been solved.
I am not using moblock - so the main problem still persists
In /var/log/messages there are thousands of entries :
NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
eth0: Transmit timeout, ststus 00000000 00000260
Any ideas_ |

| Sorry, past midnight here. Looks like you have to work on that program that didn't install properly. Better wait for some dev to come by. Generally, it is not a good idea to upgrade. You should dist-upgrade. And use smxi to do so will help avoid mistakes. All the best and goodnight. |
