I haven't dist-upgraded for 6 days with the python, hplip and cupsys issues hanging around and had a look today but have the following issues :
First, nothing wants to get removed which is progress from trials over the last few days. I found I needed to update hplip (but not hplip-data) or I still got python/ooo removal problems.
1. cupsys put on hold by smxi but cupsys-common allowed to update - is this OK?
2. Openoffice and some of the python stuff on hold as there is an openoffice-common version mismatch. Would I be better to wait for openoffice to come to the same version number and then dist-upgrade so that everything from python upgrades together?

hplip-data seems to be ok again and even fax seems to work now on my PSC7280.
Hold can be removed from smxi. |

| If anyone lost the HP packages, what packages would need to be re-installed to recover the HP printer functionality? |

I think hplip, hpijs-ppds and their dependencies are everthing needed for HP (multifunctional) printers.
