I sent a message through the "contact" page, I'm wondering whether that message has arrived. Anyway, as I speak english, french, german and luxembourgish (and a bit spanish), I'd be glad to help the sidux crew.

bluewater - Jan 08, 2007 - 02:07 AM Post subject: For the sidux-manual
The initial coding up of the sidux-manual, is where the greatest workload will occur, in any given language (as the DE and EN team will tell you ).
We do need at least 2 people per language for coding up and translating for the sidux manuals, so if you think ,ahh looks like someone beat me to it , not so!!!

I'm a freelance English-Czech translator, still a Kanotix user willing to migrate to sidux when the first ISO comes out.
Just tell me where shall I start and how to submit my finished translations. I'll be happy to contribute.

For translators please get a look at the following priorities we have:
1) The entry level is getting into contact with me to set up your language for the CMS and the forums. This might be trivial, if there is already a ready made set of translated language files, but for some languages it is not (or outdated) and needs a lot of additional co-operative work.
2) Translate first our little welcome message at the start page, and then the beginners' page at the wiki.
3) After that you might translate the most important and recent News, and please let us know if you can commit yourself to continue translating future News (not more than one small article a week). If this is the case, we will train you in using the PostNuke administration & editor back end for fast and direct editing of your stuff. There might be also the need for translation of marketing material and release notes from time to time.
4) If you can find time and dedication proceed with the manuals - those are very important if you want to help building a real community in your language. At this stage you might also consider promoting sidux in your language at other web sites.
Feel free to contact anyone from the team if you have any questions or ideas!
Greetings,
Chris

Perhaps first step is translating the news, as it happens
devil has a process in place and best to chat with him, I don't even know if Indonesian is activated for post nuke

Generally spoken, every language can be activated in PostNuke. However, the underlying language packages are of different quality and age. For example: Our maintainer for Indonesian, Yustinus Pamuji, has stopped working on them 2 years ago. His packages therefore would need some proof reading and corrections before we can use them on newest PostNuke.
At the moment we have activated the following languages, which are in quite well shape (some do have incomplete translations for the forum module, and the Wiki module is English/German only at the moment):
As I am also involved in the PostNuke project I am willing to help everyone interested in creating perfect packages for his language. If you want to contribute to the existing core language (or module) packages, please look out for your team here and join them. That way all PostNuke users will profit from your work. If you cannot find your language there, please let me know and I will start a new project for it.
Regarding priorities, I suggest the following:
1) PostNuke core language files
2) PostNuke modules languages files, as needed by us here (forum, wiki, gallery)
3) recent sidux news
4) manuals
5) important wiki articles
