So far Nyx in the Debian tradition, seems to"just work" with all the usual mundane things I have tried despite its unstable label.
One just needs to handle with care upgrades, reading sidux news first

I myself needed to pretty things up a bit with gtk styles

apt-get install gtk-qt-engine gtk2-engines gtk2-engines-gtk-qt
and then
apt-get install openoffice.org-gtk

And set set Control Centre, appearance GTK styles and fonts to --clearlooks
and everthing looked better to me personally.
As long as one handles with care, Sid unstable in with the sidux folks becomes a very stable competent bleeding edge release.

Your version of sidux is old - sidux 2008-02 "Έρεβος" is out since 4 weeks.
Greetings,

I thought that as long as you do d-u at least monthly, you have an updated version of sidux. I have 2008.1. Once updated itsn't it the same as 2008.2?

slam's point was probably that the original reporter commentd how nice the Nyx release is now that Nyx is no longer the current release.

Really, you just upgrade when you want to. Waiting increases the chance of a failure - but that hasn't happened in a while.
