Hi folks! It's that time again, when we ask sidux users to break out the stylus' and create something spectacular for the annual sidux User Wallpaper Competition. The competition winner will have their creation included as the default wallpaper for the upcoming 2008-03 "Ουρέα" release

Closing date: All entries must be in by 2359h 10th August 2008 UTC 12h How to Enter: email submissions to cleary at! sidux-ev.de. Submissions must contain at least the source image file and a COPYRIGHT file as detailed below. Previews: All valid entries will be displayed in the preview gallery

Rules:

• Logo - The wallpaper must include the sidux logo
- existing variations of the logo can be found in the Resources section below
• Logo variations
- you can create your own logo variation, abiding by the following rules:
• the logo must be in the sidux font - see Resources section below
• it must also include the ring/"orbit" on the 's'
• it must contain the word 'sidux' (all lower case)
• Source Format: SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic)
- the preferred format is inkscape svg - but plain svg (that renders 100% with inkscape) will also be accepted - this restriction is due to the benefits that svg affords the art, development and packaging teams - other formats will not be accepted
• License/Copyright
sidux releases only contain software that abides by the Debian Free Software Guidelines (dfsg) - to be eligible for consideration, the submission package must contain a COPYRIGHT file stating the following:

Copyright [year of copyright] [full name of the artist] [email address of the artist]             
License: [dfsg compatible license, we recommend the free art license]                                                  
[include here the text of the license, or a link to a public copy of the license text]

• Inkscape is available from the debian main repos, or from http://www.inkscape.org for linux/OSX/windows platforms
• Weekly svn builds of inkscape packages for debian sid/sidux are available from http://art.sidux.com
- remember your final output must render in Inkscape 0.46 from debian main
• the sidux font is available via sidux apt repos, or here

  apt-get install ttf-sidux

Hallo Leute! Es ist wieder mal so weit, die sidux User zu bitten, die Buntstifte zu spitzen und etwas Spektakuläres für den jährlichen sidux User Wallpaper Wettbewerb zu kreieren. Abgabetermin: Alle Einreichungen müssen am 10 August 23:59 UTC 12h im Forum eingestellt sein. How to Enter: E-Mail an cleary at! sidux-ev.de. Die Beiträge müssen mindestens die Quelle-Image-Datei und eine Copyright-Datei wie unten bei Lizenz/Copyright erläutert. Previews: Alle regelgerechten Einreichungen werden im Preview-Thread vorgestellt.

Regeln:

• Logo - Das Wallpaper muss das sidux Logo beinhalten
- vorhandene Variationen des Logos findet Ihr weiter unten bei den Quellen.
• Logo Variationen
- Ihr könnt ein eigenes sidux Logo nach den folgenden Regeln erstellen:
• das Logo muss den sidux Font verwenden - siehe Quellen weiter unten
• es muss den Ring/"Orbit" auf dem 's' beinhalten
• es muss das Wort 'sidux' in Kleinbuchstaben enthalten
• Source Format: SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic)
- das bevorzugte Format ist Inkscape svg - normales svg (das zu 100% mit Inkscape darstellbar ist) wird akzeptiert - die Beschränkung auf svg besteht wegen der Vorteile von svg für das Ergebnis selbst und der guten Handhabbarkeit für Entwicklung/Packaging - andere Formate werden nicht akzeptiert
• Lizenz/Copyright
- sidux Releases enthalten ausschliesslich Software nach den Debian Free Software Guidelines (dfsg) - um zur Veröffentlichung in Betracht zu kommen, muss die Einreichung eine Datei folgenden Inhalts enthalten:

Copyright [Jahr des Copyrights] [voller Name des Künstlers] [Email Adresse des Künstlers]
Lizenz: [dfsg kompatible Lizenz, wir empfehlen die 'free art license']
[hier den Text Eurer Lizenz oder einen Link zu einer öffentlichen Kopie des Lizenztextes]
